| About Thee Stolen Cars |
Thee Stolen Cars were born in 1986, livin’ the brief but exciting 80s Garage Punk revival in Italy, among the likes of Avvoltoi, Silver Surfers, Sick Rose... They managed to produce just one 7 incher EP, featuring four songs (She Sings The Songs, Walk On In, Wise Man, In Your Dreams); several other Stolen Cars’ cuts were included in sampler, in Italy and all over Europe (Thee Stolen Cars’ “Christine” spent some weeks in the top ten of a Bilbao’s radio station). Tim Gassen, in his authoritative book “The Knights Of Fuzz”, spent nice word about Thee Stolen Cars: “Tight performances and powerful arrangements make thee Stolen Cars one of the best italian garage bands”. They keep on playing until early 90s, when the band call it a day. All the former members kept performing in different bands (Il Metius, the singer, is a former member of infamous Thee STP, Mick, the bass player, forms The Groovers, when Jojo starts his garage punk project Changing Men). In 2006 they reform the band, recruiting Max on drums. After few gigs, the band discover itself in a good shape: they took the decision to write new songs and record the album they didn’t do in their heyday. ‘Cause their heydays are yet to come!
