Biography
Well… everything started in the year 2000. At the time, in the city of Naples, nothing was happening as usual, when suddenly, a big white spreading light appeared in the sky. What the fuck was happening?? Only tree persons would be able to interpret that spectacular sign meant ROCK 'N' ROLL!!! Licastro and Troise, coming from the terrible experience of 'alternative rock' wanted to expand their boring music patterns, Schröeder was ready to kick asses after one year of work spent dressing dead people in Tuscany. The three guys at the beginning played in Troise's loft since when, they found place down town in an old dirty and wet cavern where top Naples bands like Undertakers and the Real Swinger used to play. Immediately they became conscious of the incredible power that the trio could spread and it was clear in their minds the way to become rock'n'roll heroes! The first gigs, fast and furious like the tongue of a leprous on the tit of a virgin, reflected their anger, desire and power, but still the sound was too immature and too contaminated by too many 'sonic youth' reminiscences. The opportunity to understand how to rock was them early given! The Sperms toured all over Italy with the best garage band ever: SCARED OF CHAKA! After that the sound was more dirty, more punk, more rock 'n' roll. In 2002 the Sperms recorded a few tracks in their basement and the first official spurt called… THE SPERMS obviously. The guys started playing with cool bands like THE APERS, THE GROOVIE GHOULIES , UNWOUND , TAXI, THE BRAINERS, SEMPREFRESKI, LO LITE, DEXTER, THE WILD WEEK END and many others. Every gig of the band means crowd sweating and screaming and nothing can stop the wild fury of the hypergerman Schröeder, the smashing sound of Hard on, neither the anger of Troise bad boy. On june 2004 the Sperms recorded their first full-cd with Nicotine records: stay tuned for more rock'n'roll! |
