The Slapsticks were born in bologna in the beginning of 2005. After the breaking up of the Black Mamba, the singer/guitarist Raimundo and the drummer Dario bring life to a new band, firstly contacting the bass player Damien, then calling their friend Nick as rythm guitarist. Eventually, the Slapsticks decide to fill in their songs with some piano arrangements, so they ask Felix to join them. The band takes inspiration from the way of playing rock'n'roll by bands such as the New York Dolls, the MC5, the Stooges, the Hellacopters, Turbonegro...and take their name and their demo's artwork from the twenties comedy.The lyrics of the songs try to speak to the heart of the people who live life and r'n'r just the same way as they do, and they talk about how hard it is to get along with a society which takes life from TV, fashion, money, religions, arrivism...and so much useless music.The Slapsticks recorded their first demo cd in June 2005, assisted by Marzio m.m., guitarist of the Valentines. Some of the Slapsticks'songs were written during the existence of the Black Mamba.
