Chillihounds

Chillihounds; unleash the beast

Swedish band Chillihounds has gone from strength to strength with their seventies flavored hard rock. With their new album, simply called "The Album", everything seems to fall into place.
"The album" was recorded at Grand recordings in Gothenburg where we got the vintage sound which fits our vision of modern classic rock, singer/guitarist Gabriel Aadland explains.
Chillihounds has developed their own unique style in the furious riffing of Love sweet love, the unforgettable chorus of Very scary Mary, the funky drive of Dancing devils and the genius simplicity that is 1975, the song that perhaps best captures the essence of what Chillihounds is all about. However the members don't deny the influence a lot of the sixties and seventies bands have had on them. They say that they're proudly carrying the heritage into a new era.
If you have experienced Chillihounds live since the start you'll see they have grown into an eight-legged monster that never fails to live up to expectations.
You have to be a well-oiled machine as a live act if you're going to survive the tough record industry of today, says Gabriel Aadland.
Chillihounds formed in 2003 when he and guitarist Daniel Hessel started writing acoustic songs together. Stefan Johansson - formerly singer in metal act Aggressive - soon joined on drums. The latest addition of the line-up Carl Linnaeus - formerly of garage rockers Rickshaw - added further weight with his thunderous bass playing.
Gabriel Aadland explains the bands philosophy:
We started this band because we're sick and tired of today's music without heart and passion. Chillihounds aims directly at your crouch.
