Love Injections

The Love Injections got together in November of 2001 when KJ Svensson and Tobbe Rogbrant left The Jackals - a band they'd played in since 1998 - and teamed up with guitarist Thomas Hermansson who'd just quit a band called Plan Nine.
The idea was to form a band that was all about good songs and a passion for rock & roll music. After a couple of months they were joined by Rebecca Moén on bass and cut a seven track demo, simply titled "Love Injections", that was shopped around to labels, zines and all sorts of industry people. Apart from recieving great reviews this lead to a deal with Swedish music publishing company Misty Music and offers from a couple of independant US record labels to release the demo as an album. This was turned down however since it had not been recorded with an "official" release in mind. Two songs from the demo did appear on two separate compilation albums released by UK indie record label C1 Records though.
In 2003 the US record label Shark Bite Records asked the band to record two songs for "Dream Tonight - A Tribute To Cheap Trick" which was released in October.Around the same time the Love injections was approached by South American record label Bourbon Records to contribute a song for their "Rock & Roll Salvation, Vol 2" compilation CD, to which the band happily obliged since the CD also featured their heroes Nikki Sudden, Dave Kusworth, Jo "Dog" Almeida, Supersuckers and Neil Leyton.
Now work had begun on a second demo CD titled "3 Sheets To The Wind" and it was finally released in January 2004. The eight song CD got even better reviews than the debut and also attracted the interest of Swedish big name producer Chips Kiesby (Sator, The Hellacopters, Millencollin, Sahara Hotnights, Thåström etc.) who offered to produce the bands' debut album - but this time no labels showed any interest.
All along the band had been looking for a second guitarist and around this time they found one in Fredrik "Judo" Simonsson (of Swedish indie rockers Spiral Stairs) - which did wonders adding an extra dimension to their sound. In July 2004 the Love Injections decided to take a break after a disastrous residency at a hotel on the Swedish east-coast followed by a couple of mediocre shows later in the month. That fall Rebecca and the band parted ways and KJ and Fredrik started writing some new material.
The writing continued through spring 2005 and with the addition of Henrik "Linkan" Lindqvist (of Swedish rockers JetVicious) - bass player extraordinaire - the Love Injections slowly started to get going again. Then, when all was looking peachy, it turns out that Thomas had ran out of inspiration and decided to leave the band. Luckily guitarist Micke Sahlin, an old friend from The Jackals days and also a band-mate of Linkan's in JetVicious, agreed to temporarily help the band out, but the chemistry was there and he became a full-time member.
This hot new line-up started to really gel in rehearsals and with some great new material the Love Injections went into the studio a couple of days in July and November of 2005 and cut their third demo "Breakfast For Champions". A five track affair, recorded pretty much live, it contains some of their finest material ever and displays a wide range of the band's sound.
A couple of months after the release of "Breakfast For Champions" in 2006 Micke quit the Love Injections because of other commitments and was replaced by Mikael Westerlund - an old friend of Linkan's. The spark was there from the get-go and the band hit the ground running, coming up with some excellent new material for their upcoming full-lenth album.
So, with this in their backs there's an air of excitement in the Love Injections camp. They're ready to spread their gospel and who knows what the future might bring?
Here's to rock & roll!
